Adding resistors

Nice and easy one for today. We looked at how resistors add in series and parallel.

In series the resistances add
In parallel the conductances add

Conductance = 1/resistance
Conductance is measured in siemens (S)

For more information and some practice questions have a look at: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/A-level_Physics_(Advancing_Physics)/Resistance_and_Conductance (this wiki book is good for the whole course).

Here is an outline of the practical and some worked examples of questions that you could be asked http://tap.iop.org/electricity/circuits/114/file_46013.doc

Finally here is someone else go through these ideas http://youtu.be/fHGVslgO6pM. There are a series of videos showing examples. Perhaps not the most exciting presentation in the world but it is a good shirt bow tie combo which more than makes up for it.
